Disgust with Civilization, Vol. 1: March 1, 2016
Written by Amber Peckham
We are many of us disgusted by some element of human civilization. Maybe you’re sickened by 24-hour news cycles, revolted by bureaucracy, hate social media, detest standardized testing, or loathe the liberal mindset. The thing is: you’re not alone, and I want to recruit you to prove it.
This is a call for writers to share stories of disenfranchisement, helplessness, and maybe even action. These stories can be your personal experiences, a more detached rant, or a mix of both.
Our first dish session will be March 1, 2016 at New Day Meadery @ 6 pm.
The Rules
- Three people will read at each event. Submit early, we can plan in advance for future events.
- Readers will be selected via a submission process. We want your disgust, but we also want to make sure you’re not going to get up and be a bigot. This is meant to bring us together, not divide us.
- This does not mean your work has to be “publishable” or “polished.” It’s not a quality judgment.
- No justification for rejecting a submission will be provided, and we will not edit submissions, just review them.
- Plan to read for 7-10 minutes.
- You can read multiple things.
