Ready for a New Chapter in Digital Storytelling (Let’s Talk)
After more than two decades of leading content strategy initiatives, managing publishing operations, and scaling teams, I’m exploring the next phase of my career. The interesting thing about working in the spaces I have—magazines, digital media, publishing, and podcasting—is that storytelling has always been at the center of what I do, even as the formats and delivery mechanisms evolved.
I’m curious about bringing these experiences in storytelling, team building, and strategic thinking to an organization that values the art of connecting through narratives. Think editorial director, content strategy lead, or strategic communications—roles where understanding both the craft and the systems that support it matters.
What I’ve Learned
- Building sustainable digital content operations is an art. I’ve helped organizations through digital transformation, moving from traditional to digital-first models while focusing on quality content.
- Teams thrive when they have clear direction and creative freedom. Through strategic editorial management, I’ve built and led teams that delivered complex projects while having fun doing them.
- Innovation happens at intersections. Some of my favorite work has been driving content innovation through partnerships between seemingly different worlds—from academic publishing to interactive media—creating unique digital storytelling experiences.
What I’m Looking For
Companies and people who:
- believe in the power of well-crafted narratives
- value both creativity and strategic thinking
- foster collaborative, inclusive environments
- are based in Pittsburgh or embrace remote work
Let’s Talk
First, I’ll contact friends and colleagues across media, tech, and publishing for virtual coffee chats over the next few months. I’m curious about how the landscape has evolved, what skills are becoming crucial, and where others see opportunities emerging. I’d love to connect if you’re up for sharing your insights.
Second, I’ll be at SXSW 2025 this March. My favorite part of the conference is connecting with old friends and making new ones. If you plan to be in Austin, let’s schedule some time to chat over a drink (or BBQ) about the future of storytelling and content.
The truth is, I love helping organizations tell their stories more effectively while building systems that make that storytelling sustainable. If that resonates with what you’re looking for, I’d enjoy discussing how my experience might fit your needs.
